Lakewood Ranch

The land occupied by present-day Lakewood Ranch was originally known as Schroeder-Manatee Ranch in the early 1900s and was eventually purchased in 1922 by Milwaukee’s Uihlein family for their ranch operations. The community was established in 1994, and its first neighborhood development, Summerfield, was completed the following year.
